Research has shown that sitting for too long will negatively impact your general health and is a major lifestyle issue. In fact, research actually shows that exercise in leisure time does not necessarily make up for the negative consequences of sedentary behavior during the day.

Use the Monotony app to take “workplace-friendly” mini breaks with short, and fun, quick activities. Designed to be done anywhere without equipment, these activities will help you move during the workday.

Start the app when you are about to sit, choose how many hours you will be desk-bound, and the app will automatically plan and present activities within that time. You can change the activity interval, and much more, from within the app in Settings.

“Yes, sitting too long can kill you, even if you exercise.” - CNN

“Physical activity is about finding opportunities to add movement throughout the day as part of a bigger commitment to healthy living.”  – Adm. Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
